About Us

Welcome to Little Pengwedna the home of the Furrydance herd of Charolais and Limousin Cattle

Our farm is situated in the mild climate of south Cornwall.

As a family we are fourth generation of cattle breeders.  Establishing Furrydance Charolais in 1980 with the purchase of a cow (Chesham Minerva) and heifer (Silver Orchid) from the Harman family. Limousins were introduced in 1995 with the purchase Hallingbury Honey. Over the years we have achieved success at the national show/sales at Perth, Carlisle, Banbury and our South West Club venue at Holsworthy.

The breeding in the herds remains true to our family traditions of farming and butchery. The herds are run very commercially, focusing on their temperament and ability to produce high quality offspring which satisfy the requirements of today’s family butchers.

In 2003 embryo transplant was introduced, with a successful run of flushes.  Our most successful being Billington Abbie, an exceptionally well muscled Charolais, who has produced quality bulls (F. Fieldmarshall selling to Andrew Powell a top Welsh suckled calf producer for £4,725), females (all retained) and crossbred calves. With our retained recipients going on to produce some excellent crossbred calves.

On the show circuit both herds have had great success, including Supreme Champion at the Royal Cornwall Show with our limousin bull Bowers Sam.
